Hi There! I'm Kendra Minadeo, an illustrator based in Los Angeles, CA.
I grew up in the wintry tundra of Alberta, Canada on an acreage with skinny trees that were terrible for climbing, needless to say, I was super bored. To ease my boredom I read books ravenously, drew pictures and painted cats. I proclaimed that when I grew up I was going to be an artist. My mother approved.
Upon moving to "the big city" of Edmonton, I revelled in the freedom brought by mass public transit, walkable corner stores and easy to navigate streetscapes. I even had the pleasure of stumbling upon a handful of artists at a local studio, and my desire to learn, and play with every type of medium was insatiable. These people could not get rid of me.
In my illustrations I continue to work with a mix of mediums and mash and erase things until something pretty comes out. I love love love drawing people, characters, critters, and objects!
I'm currently open for commissions for editorial and all manner of kidlit projects. I'm amazingly easy to work with. Let's chat!
